Who’s who

Peter Pugh, Chairman
Peter graduated in History from Cambridge in 1965 and pursued a career in marketing until 1984, when he began writing corporate histories, which he still writes. He formed Icon Books with two fellow directors in 1991. Peter is the author of Introducing Keynesian Economics and over 40 company histories, including a three-volume comprehensive history of Rolls-Royce called The Magic of a Name.

Philip Cotterell, Managing Director
Philip joined Icon in January 2012, having been a non-executive director of the company for three years. He manages Icon and deals with the company’s overseas agents including Allen and Unwin and Consortium. He worked for 25 years at Piatkus, where he was deputy MD.

Duncan Heath, Editorial Director
Duncan joined Icon in 1994 and is in charge of the production of all Icon books, from editing manuscripts to seeing a new book off to the printers. He is also involved in the commissioning of new titles.

Andrew Furlow, Sales & Marketing Director
Andrew joined Icon in 1999, looks after sales and marketing for all Icon titles and, with the Marsh Agency, the selling of rights for Icon books to foreign publishers. He is also works closely with Icon’s sales agents and distributors, Faber & Faber, and TBS Distribution.

He won the IPG Young Independent Publisher of the Year Award 2011.

Rob Sharman, Editor
Rob joined Icon in February 2012.

Nira Begum, Assistant Editor
Nira joined Icon in March 2013 and is responsible for various aspects of the editorial and production processes.  She reads submissions, copy-edits and proofreads manuscripts and maintains the quality of Icon’s output.

Stacey Croft, Sales and Marketing Executive
Stacey joined Icon in January 2012 and assists with all areas of sales and marketing. She is the editor for IconBooks.net and manages Icon’s social media channels, including @iconbooks and  @introducingbook.
